In 2010 the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild began a wonderful Christmas tradition.

They gather each year at 106 South Front Street, Philadelphia;
the birthplace of Lorenzo L. Langstroth on Christmas Day,
which is also Langstroths birthday, for a Champagne / mead
toast to Langstroth. And with Love, they affix a birthday bow
on the historical marker in his honor.

This year is Langstroth's 205th birthday, so we are planning
the toast for December 25th, at 2:05 P.M. Or show up and
toast any time during the day if you are unable to make it
at that time.

We are inviting those who are unable to make the trip to
Philadelphia to have your toast of mead or favorite beverage
in the bee yard with your bees or in your honey processing
room or bee related place. And share a photo of your toast
to the "A Toast to Langstroth" facebook page.

The Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild was instrumental in getting
the historical marker in place at Langstroth's birthplace, so
please send them a thanks for all their hard work and for
starting this wonderful tradition which is sure to spread
throughout the beekeeping community.

So get your bottle of mead ready for the Christmas Day
Langstroth Toast and don't forget to share your photos to
the page.
