Default strange behavoir in post edit window

I've noticed numerous times that when entering a reply to a post, my cursor will jump to the top of the paragraph. This happens mid-sentence. I can't figure out how to prevent this once it happens. It is very annoying. Perhaps I'm hitting a certain key sequence by mistake, but you'd think I could simply place the cursor back to where I want it to be and continue typing, but if I do, it jumps back to the top of the paragraph. I'm using firefox on a windows 7 machine.

I noticed that when using different devices, they act differently. My old phone, being the worst.

You could try composing your message in an editor* - not in Firefox. Once you have the message to your satisfaction, then paste it into the Beesource message window. If the problem moves to the editor, it may be your keyboard/hardware.

*editor: Notepad, Word Processor, Wordpad, etc. Depends on what you have available.

I discovered today that if I select "Go Advanced" the problem goes away.

When you reply to a thread, look at the bottom of the input window. There are 3 options: "Post Quick Reply", "Go Advanced", or "Cancel"

If you "Go Advanced" the problem seems to go away. In fact I had to do it for this reply. This seems like a bug.

There is an option under Settings> General Settings> Miscellaneous Options to select the Reply Window style that you prefer, if you perhaps want to have the "Advanced" window as the default.

Here's how my "Miscellaneous Options" looks. Mine is set to "Enhanced Interface"

    Message Editor Interface:
    • Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing
    • Basic Editor - A simple text box
    • Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls
