Yes I've noticed that. Over the last 3 years I have got quite a bit more streamlined in my inspection process.
One method I've developed that helps is that I write all pertinant info on the top of the hive with a marker. (date of inspection, found eggs, all stages of brood, one medium super #9 added, etc.) That way when I come back the next time I can remember exactly what was going on in that hive and what I did. I usually leave the last 2 inspections on there. Other than that I wipe the notes off and rely on my paper notes that I also take.
