I once saw my bees landing in an ash pit after I had a fire outside. I wonder if they were in the wood ash to get minerals? any one out there know why the bees were in the wood ash?

I have the red ones for the horses. The bees have never shown an interest. I think the red ones have copper in them. I think copper is not good for bees...
