    Natural Selection Rambling

Since it is relatively cold and quiet in the beeyard and gets dark early now, I have more time inside to read / study various random concepts in the treatment-free realm and roll them around in my...

Sticky: Re: GregV's Alternative way to keep (have?) bees.

Now that you mention it, I can see the sticks in the photos- I'm pulling for this colony.
  4. Re: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times- wisdom and folly from 2019

Nice article- looks like you have had a good year on the whole. 68 stings- wow was that all at once while installing the package or were you referring to the whole year?

Great feedback. David. Thank you for your reply.

If you don't mind me asking a few more questions:

    Sticky: Re: Treatment-Free Bungling 2018 - ?

With the return of more seasonable temperatures this coming week, I am thinking through my options with #1905.

While my mindset may change as the years progress, my general philosophy has thus...

    David:

My apologies if you have already addressed this, but do you mind to outline what (if anything) you do for swarm control with your overwintered colonies?

    Sticky: Re: Treatment-Free Bungling 2018 - ?

I could not agree more- as is being discussed in another good thread here on Beesource, I imagine many of us ultimately keep bees for the intrinsic joy and satisfaction that comes in interacting with...

    Sticky: Re: Treatment-Free Bungling 2018 - ?

Thanks, GWW. I think your sentiments largely reflect my own- the only caveat being that if I determine they are a lost cause without intervention, I want to reserve the right to experiment on them...

Anything that has milk, eggs and fruit in it and is fried in lard is called good eating in my book.

I look forward to giving this recipe a try.

I'm with you on this GregV. Win-Lose-or-Draw, I think we all benefit by sharing what works, what doesn't, and trends we see in our apiaries as a means to disseminate information that might be helpful...

    Sticky: Re: Treatment-Free Bungling 2018 - ?

Certainly true... but at heart I am still a 'tinker around the edges' kind of guy so I want to:
