  1. Re: How long can removed honey frames sit before extraction?

I am interested in this as well.
We have hot temps and a cool basement.
Can't these frames be wrapped tight in a thick garbage bag and be safe.

    Odd behavior

So I noticed something odd just a few minutes ago while I was looking at my hives.
I have 9 hives that are somewhat close stacked together.
They have about 12 inches of space between them and are...

Re: What is this tree or bush

So I did some research on this and it does seem to be a privet.
We have some really hot summer weather and we have lots of creeks.
Most of our trees are oak, but there are lots of gardens here...

Re: I'll Never Get Used To Stings...

I have never have had a serious reaction to a sting whether it's a honey bee or a yellow jacket.
Normally my stings only last for 2-3 minutes.
I am also not really bothered by poison oak.
    I don't...

What is this tree or bush

This is what my late bloom comes from and I am not sure what it is.
There are 80 or so that I can see in my neighborhood.

Re: What Price Should I Sell A Pint of Honey For

I am always asked what I sell my honey for.
    I don't sell any.
    I refuse to.
I do this for fun and am really scared that if I charged for honey it would be a job.
The last thing I want would be to...

    Re: Bee Brush Question

She is a big jumbo sized greenwing.
Big red bird with a little green on her wings.
Larger than some of the smaller hyacinths I've seen.

    Re: Bee Brush Question

As others have stated the bee brush makes them angry.
Holding the frame in one hand and tapping it downward to the other hand works ok for me but frames are kinda heavy.
    Tapping the frame to the...

    Re: Bee suit

    I have several suiting options.
My favorite is a hooded jacket and ventilated bee gloves.
I wear it with Levi's,boots and a tee shirt.
Tuck you shirt in and you will like it a bit more

Re: need to mow grass in front of hive

One of my thoughts is to close off the robber screen doors early in the morning for an hour or so.
My other thought I'd to lay down a bunch of...

    This subject really interests me.
I would rather not buy a dehydrator but I will if I need to.
I'm just getting to much crap in my kitchen.

    Hi there kevlarskimmer,

    Re: Water Feeder for Bees

  24. Re: How many hives do you think is too many for this property? Google Earth photo.

I can't really see how big your property is.
Mine is 3/4 acre and I don't think more than 4 or possibly 6 at the most would work.
I don't have a home owners association but regardless of that I...
