Re: TIN FOIL HAT or REALITY?

Less so these days, but a few years ago we used to see a lot of examples of conditioning rather than education, right here on Beesource.

New members would crop up who had read internet articles...
  2. Re: Penn State "COMB" project posts Dec 2019 update

Yes that's how i saw it.

Seems to me that he had some initial mite issues, but after his hives had swarmed and mated with the locals a bit, they became mite tolerant.

Then when he got the nwc...

Re: TIN FOIL HAT or REALITY?

Interesting observation Greg, couple of examples come to mind.

Back when Russia backed forces shot down a passenger plane over Ukraine killing hundreds of innocents, the Russian media came out...

Re: TIN FOIL HAT or REALITY?

    Alternate media.

Which where i come from is chemtrails, alien lizards, the evils of the langstroth hive, etc..

However if alternate media means something else in the USA, then I withdraw my...
  6. Re: Penn State "COMB" project posts Dec 2019 update

What I understand is that over the years he has sold a handful of nucs, my personal belief is this has been so he can say he is selling bees, and thereby fudge losses. I also know that for extended...
  7. Re: Interest in purchasing New Zealand queens being sought

There is a mountain of paperwork, that's how.

Back when I was sending bees avoer myself, all that was required was a declaration that there was no AFB within some distance of the apiaries the bees...

I'm not sure why it is always lost either. Take a look at the wording, which is typical.

"The number of honey bee colonies in the US has been declining at an average rate of almost 40% since...
  10. Re: Penn State "COMB" project posts Dec 2019 update

    True enough FP. :D

Re the insecticides, I don't think anyone is in denial that they can harm bees. They do after all kill insects, and bees are insects.

But the point was made by JWC that in...

Quote - "Honey bees are under extreme pressure. The number of honey bee colonies in the US has been declining at an average rate of almost 40% since 2010".

So by 2 1/2 years later they were all...
  12. Re: Penn State "COMB" project posts Dec 2019 update

The TF debate is actually an interesting study of human nature.

A person will only accept the facts, if it fits their world view.

The results of every study done on the subject have been the...

  15. Interest in purchasing New Zealand queens being sought

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who is a commercial queen breeder only selling his queens in New Zealand. Since i am on Beesource and he is not, I'm posting.

He now wants to export, and is...

Hi Steve your attachment would not show.

However normally when bees are clustered on the outside of a house, it is because there is a small hole allowing access to an interior cavity and the bees...

    Re: Small winter cluster

I would have to disagree with that, because as an ex queen breeder, I had so many cases where the person interfered and caused the queen to be lost. When if he had just left things alone it would...
