Check the empty cells on the brood frames. Do you see what looks like some white flecks scattered around on the cell walls?[/QUOTE]. Didn’t see anything like that. I will look again
That’s what I thought. Very odd. I have other hives about 3 miles from them and there all fine.
I was looking at the dead out in the brood chamber and noticed a lot of eggs and dead larva.

I don’t have a freezer to store the comb in. Any suggestions
Alcohol wash. And I don’t use chemicals for mites. Done a lot of washes and there weren’t a lot. What would you do with the comb with pollen in it? Does it spoil?
Ok about 3 month ago i took a colony of strong bee's to my uncles farm to pollinate his pumpkin fields. Checked on them about once a month and everything seemed fine. Low mite counts plenty of food...
Temperatures around here are low 60’s. Is that to cold to do a newspaper combine? Not much bee activity around the hives.
I have been selling 24 oz bears for $15. And 16oz. For $10
. Well the name on the honey is from a known local commercial bee keeper. Not the name of the apple orchard.
Man this seems cheap to me. Was at a apple orchard we picked apples at. Was going to ask them if they were interested in buying my honey but not for those prices. How does the bee keeper make money...
Yea thought that. But this is a hive that i split like a month ago because they wanted to swarm even though the queen had plenty of room to lay. I actually put a post up about it you responded on....
I have a hive that has gone queen less. What would you do this late in the year?
Ok thanks just looked a little crazy.
Ok I have a hive that there is so much bearding they are hanging off the bottom of the SBB. Went in this hive a week ago no swarm cells. To late in year to split. It has been warm and muggy. Should I...
thanks all great ideas
Ok I spilt a bunch of honey. Was going from extractor to pale through a filter. Stupid me didn’t realize the gate was open on the bucket. Anyway. I got most of it up in a aluminum pan. How would you...
My last batch of honey i put it in a small room with a dehumidifier for a couple day's. Stirring it occasionally got it down to 16%
So are there not as many bees in the honey super as I think there are? Seems like to me they would run out of room if you took all that space away.
Ok question when you have a hive with say single brood chamber and 5 supers. If you take 2 or 3 supers off how do you keep them from swarming? Wont this make them run out of room?
Thanks, found her moved her and a bunch of nurse bee's and put the feed on them. Any concern that some of the cells i found were supersedure cells?
Went into one of my biggest hives today and found a bunch a capped and uncapped Queen cells in the brood chamber. Not sure how I got to this point? Checked all my other hives and they all have the...
Did the bucket have a lid on it? How do you dehumidify it If it’s already extracted in a bucket?
I have similar climate. Mine survived last year on 1 deep and 1 med super full
That's what i thought. Just wasn't sure
