    Yes the bee space at the top between the inner cover and the top of the frames a flat cover on mann lake box's and mine would only give the bee's a little over 1/8 '' space which doesnt seem like...

    A question that always comes up when we make wine is does adding more sugar in the beginning make a sweeter wine or does it just make a higher alcohol content or both

    I always wondered about flat covers and didn't think it would give bee's enough room to walk around on top of the frames , the frames on box's i make and mann lake box's are recessed only about 1/8''...

    Maybe i didnt explain that the top entrance im talking about is the notch thats built into the rim on the inner cover

    getting ready to make more inner covers and noticed my old ones have a 1/2'' of bee space between the cover and top of the frames , if I go for a top entrance 3/8'' hi and frames are 1/8'' down...

    Finally getting alot of capped honey but im getting a reading of 82 , this was from frames 95 % capped very little open cells and I have already extracted it . I have never gotten a reading this high...

    I agree , all of my hives are tilted forward to keep water out but im still getting some rot even after one coat of good quality primer and two coats of paint , the landing is exposed to the weather...

    will cedar hold up very long if its not painted or will it start to rot in 3 or 4 years , need some ideas on something for the bottom part that wont rot thats 5/8 to 3/4 thick

    I have some 5/4 trex boards laying around that were used for another project and after 10 years there like brand new still , I want to make bottom boards from them that won't rot and wont ever need...
