Re: A sign of the times

Pray it stays that way AR.
Some hospitals nearby have had to construct huge 4077 mash like tents in their parking lots to meet the mandate to increase hospital capacity by 50% as directed by the...
  2. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

Hard to believe that some things need to be explained little john.

It appears that those closer to the front lines don't feel the same need to create any cockamamie half baked theories about the...
  3. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

-Travel has not been a problem for me working my bees in 2 states, both consider agriculture essential.

-Inspections are not a issue or so I'm told. Looks like I'll find out sooner rather than...
  4. Re: Is it time to take insulation off of my hives

Same here. No wrap or insulation but do use a homasote board for IC during winter. Pull it off in early spring so the bees can

  8. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

I don't know if nucs are down in price or not and if so it's because of the virus or something else but the beekeeping industry is much bigger than just nucs.
    Going forward, frivolous spending,...
  9. Re: EFB Pro-active treatments - Now or wait until later in the season?

The PA law has plenty of meat in it to mitigate a ongoing EFB problem caused by a rouge beekeeper. Sometimes it takes more than just being nice to get state agencies moving on a issue.
    It was said...
  10. Re: EFB Pro-active treatments - Now or wait until later in the season?

I'll have to find and read the PA apiary law to see what it says about detriments to the states' useful and/or managed bee population as your neighbor may be a detriment. I know of a nearby state...

Re: Is an AI breeder queen worth it for 20-25

    Oh wonderful.

Seems much more simple to ask the poster what was meant by the term instead of making the all to common assumption.

Re: Is an AI breeder queen worth it for 20-25

If you do mind, I get it- no harm.
    Thanks clyderoad.

For the sake of sanity, learn to put it in perspective.
Many have been forced to. It has helped.

MPalmer: I'd guess if you don't get where the study went or what it proved (or the methodology) others will likely feel the same way when they read it.
