    Re: Early swarming in California?

I would agree Waterbug and it is perhaps just our long warm dry spell this winter is causing them to search for better forage ground. Was another in a eucalyptus tree I was called about last week,...

  7. Bees eating fruit specifically Watermenon

Noticed today while feeding the chickens leftovers that hundreds of our bees were on a half watermelon we gave to the chickens as we do often when blazing hot like it is. Just curious as to if it is...
  8. Re: Help! Massive Heat Wave. Is there anything can I do to help my bees?

Yesterday it was 108 here and will be up to 120 by Wednesday according to whether man and we have no issues the bees can not handle. It is a dry heat until our monsoon season gets started in July,...

Had that problem once last year so now I feed them as soon as I house them.... Works well, but I use 10 frame deeps.

    Re: Bees and kiddie pool

We are in the desert here and had issues with bees in our swimming pool during summer, to solve it we took a small plastic kiddie pool added bee boards, some Honeybee Healthy, and a half cup chlorine...

Have used the newspaper method twice and both times successful with no issues. Laying worker hive was added on top of the queen right hive and it took about 2 days time for them to chew through the...

Re: How long is a bee's tongue?

I use the method you are asking about and I use a rubber mallet to invert the lid a bit so I can still use the seal and the center area of the lid contacts the #8 wire. Works like a charm in the...
