    Re: Replacement wedges?

Sorry to ask but can you tell me if there is a certain size material that you use or do you simply set the fence and blade depth for one cut and do again for the other? Seems like maybe a piece of 1X...

    Re: Replacement wedges?

I tried - it didn't work. The grain makes the cut go off right away. Tablesaw looks like the ticket. I'm just too lazy to pull it out but it looks like I will do so.

    Thanks

  9. A veil that stays in place while doing take outs?

My veil flops all over when I'm taking out hives. I use one that's separate from the suit. Obviously there are all sorts of positions needed to do removals and normal standing position is the...

I wish folks would get this 2' or 3 miles thing out of their heads. This is, yet another, beekeeping myth. All one needs to do is move the hive, with most flyers IN the hive if/when possible, and...

I made my own veil. I purchased one that uses elastic that goes under the arm pits and had a soft hat. I basically gutted this garbage veil and sewed the top to a plastic "Helmet that I made holes in...
  12. A veil that doesn't flop around when doing cut outs?

The veil I have is a real PIA when it comes to doing cut outs. It flops all over and I spend way too much time messing with it. Anyone have this issue and resolve it?
    Thanks

  16. Move them at night and place a branch with leaves...

Move them at night and place a branch with leaves in front so they have to work their way through it to get flying. This will cause them to reorient just like moving them 3 miles. Works every time....
  17. Do hived swarms need some place to draw comb?

I helped an elderly friend hive a swarm today. He only had drawn foundation so the bees went into a nuc with a frame of honey, a frame of open/sealed brood and 3 drawn frames. I got to wondering if...

Re: Why does honey give me heartburn?

I've suffered for decades with GERD and can tell you that, in all of the reading I've done, most experts say that foods that are high in sugar are terrible for people who have GERD. Honey is probably...
