    Re: Repairing Lega Extractor

Thanks! I’ll try that to see if there is a trick to reassembling it.

Spring pins are small (here, about and inch) c shaped metal tubes or pins. When you insert the shaft from the motor into the...

I have an older 20 frame lega extractor with and Eloba motor. In the course of taking it apart to replace the spring pins, I seem to have changed something because it won’t fit back together. This...

    Honeybhealthy expiration date?

Does anyone know how long you can keep using a jug of HBH? And do you need to keep it refrigerated?

    Re: Avoiding after swarms

The old queen went into a nuc box with frames that had no queen cells AND she went to a different location, so the swarms were not from her.
I did leave cells in the remaining hive so they would...

    Avoiding after swarms

When I went into some of my hives in March I found queen cells. I thought I would try the approach of taking away the old queen and a few frames with bees to make them feel like they had swarmed...

    Re: DWF - reusing equipment?

    I will...

    Re: Will mature queen pipe?

I have a split raising its own queen and have heard piping now going on 7 days (the 'quacking' replies stopped after about the 3rd day). Does this mean she still hasn't gone on her mating flights?

Tried the new Betterbee Pollen Trap?

Has anyone tried the new Betterbee pollen trap? The pictures make it look a lot like the Sundance bottom mounted trap - I'd be interested in any reviews/recommendations.

Thanks everyone. An old time local tells me it's black locust. I intend to do all the culinary things everyone has suggested.
