Re: What recourse do I have?

That's what I tried to tell the lawyer. I have a garden and an avocado tree and I sell the avocados. She tried to say not many people have bees. In Florida, there are over 4000 backyard beekeepers.

It’s been a while and a lot has happened. After the HOA management company said ok, about a week later I got a “get rid of the bees letter.” From the HOA attorney. I questioned the reason and they...

    Hive stands on concrete pavers?

I have access to some 1x1 concrete pavers. I am setting up my apiary in some softer ground. Is it ok to put the pavers down and put the hive stands on the pavers? Seems like it would help with...

    Moving beehives across the yard

Due to "neighborly" reasons I have to move my bees (5 hives) to the other side of my yard. Right now my hives are spread out, but they will be put into a fenced area about 25-75 yards from where...

    Re: Hurricanes and bee hives...

Thank you for all the advice. I ended up finding some tiedowns to hold the hives down and then putting another strap around the hive to hold it together.

    Re: Hurricanes and bee hives...

I am in the middle of the state. About 80 miles from the Atlantic and 45 miles from the Gulf. The path seems to be moving slowly to the west. I will have 2 30 inches ground stakes with a ratchet...

    Re: Hurricanes and bee hives...

Water should not be an issue. We are well out of the flood zone. I ordered some 30" ground tie downs. I think I will also put a strap around each hive. That way they are tied down and tied...

Re: What recourse do I have?

Good idea to attend the HOA meeting. These bees are not aggressive at all. I walk out and stand next to the hives and do not get stung. Also, I use a large riding mower and mow within a foot of...

I live in a neighborhood with an HOA. Before I got bees I carefully went through the deed restrictions. There was, and still is, nothing about honeybees. I live in Central Florida. The state of...

    Re: Political signs and uses

I have seen political signs used as SHB traps. The ones I saw were cut into 2x4 inch pieces and put on top of the boxes. Supposedly the bees will chase the beetles into the holes of the sign and...
