Some of the products are just nasty! Bee Quick is not, has a nice smell and smell does not last very long. Helped a fellow in Columbus one year and had to throw my clothes away after using what he...

Re: What have you found to be the best way to

Yes Sir, bee escapes will work and sound like what you enjoy. For us old folks, 67 and my buddy 71, having 73 hives (this year) with two or three supers each just to much lifting and shifting to...

Re: What have you found to be the best way to

    Re: Laying worker question

Agree. You can save a hive, sometimes, but it is just not worth the time, effort, and resources. No need to haul the miles away, though. Around the corner of the house will work just fine.

Re: Adding Supers, which is better

Agree works well and also then when removing I have the full, capped, supers on top and do not have to move a supper that is not filled out to get to one that is ready to harvest.

    Re: Honey labels

Get all ours from Mann Lake with 1 pound printed on the label as that is almost all we sell. When selling a larger or smaller bottle I just scratch through the number 1 and write in the correct...

  18. Re: seeking opinions about returning wet supers to hives after extracting

This is not true. You might want to do a bit more research. Below is a couple of links you might want to read. Also from personnel experience I have seen the damage they wax moths can do to frames...
  19. Re: seeking opinions about returning wet supers to hives after extracting

Do you have any wax moths and SHB in your area? Have to take extra precautions here to keep both out of the frames before and during storing.

  21. Re: seeking opinions about returning wet supers to hives after extracting

    Re: Simple Harmony Farms Uncapper

Thanks to all for the information and first hand reviews. Completed extraction on our hives yesterday so can save my pennies and get one for next year. Think it will fit our needs very well.
  23. Re: seeking opinions about returning wet supers to hives after extracting

Agree with not placing 'wet" supers back on our hives. Do not put them up wet but quit adding back to hives years ago. Just stack 'em and rack 'em outside and let the bees clean them up. Sure...
