    I don't believe that you'll need a Homosote board above a quilt box full of wood shavings. I don't have one above my quilt box - instead have a 1" rigid insulation foam board between the quilt box...

    Frozen combs are VERY delicate. It is very easy to break them - I've never heard of the comb contracting when frozen; I've only heard that wax becomes brittle upon freezing.

    I took all of my plastic frames to a Maker Space and used a bandsaw to remove everything but the foundation - and installed that into wood frames. YMMV.

    I do this with my nucs, migratory tops are used as bottom boards (have 3" holes cut out w/ hardware cloth for ventilation) and bottom boards inverted for top entrances.

    I have upper entrances and screened bottom boards - was wondering best location to place the vaporizer?

    I can fashion a bottom board of sorts and vaporize from beneath the SBB if Oxalic Acid...
