Re: where do I turn in my beehive tool?

Yes, bees are an amazing creation of God - always interesting. As I said - if bees come to me (cutouts or swarms - though had anyone need a cutout, and only swarms caught were mine) I will try again...

Re: where do I turn in my beehive tool?

    Thank you all.
I suspect that at least a few, really don't ready entire posts before they decide they know the answers.
Not a new beekeeper - I know how to find and check for queens, and can see if...

    >> that there might be a reason that you 'heard too many times the mites'?
Yes I have. In fact there have been long discussions on this very forum about that topic. A number agreed that the...

Re: where do I turn in my beehive tool?

    Or it wasn't...
The sugar (which was plenty) left in the hive had a lot of bee excrement on it. But then when a bee spends 6 months in a hive I don't spank them for not being able to hold it forever...

I think that will about do it.
Previous winter lost my hive that had started from a package. Purchased a nuc last summer from the person...

Sticky: Re: Bulk honey prices and market outlook

    OT
Just to point out - the bankrupt countries were basically cornered into taking a bunch of EU loans (EU knowing it couldn't be paid back) to prevent the EU economy from slipping further into a...

    Re: Resource hogging

I tested in Chrome and IE. Opera does not show the problem (during load it does, but then stops) - but this could be because the ads do not come up in opera (I may have blocked them a while back).

    Re: Resource hogging

A forum should not even tax an old 486 :) The internet connection should be the slowest point.
I am not talking about attempting to load a youtube video or such - just the main forum page.

    Re: Resource hogging

That was CPU processing and ram consumption.
System may be out dated some, but hardly enough to be unable to handle a forum.

    Resource hogging

Using a lot of system resources for a bb. IE and Chrome both start the system revving up when I go to beesource forums.

That is after it is loaded and just sitting...

Sticky: Re: Today in the Apiary

Opened the lid the other day and found the bees are still alive. They need additional sugar though.

In my opinion that would be a bit simplistic.
We average 6 months of winter.
    On average...

Sticky: Re: Bulk honey prices and market outlook

I might point out that while European prices for honey look good... one needs to look at an entire market to decide on such a thing.
Do you want to pay what they pay for gas, or electricity, or...

Sticky: Re: Today in the Apiary

Looked at the hive (meaning - I actually just looked at the hive, no opening, not even getting close to it). Wondered if their alive still (maybe I will tap the side and see).
    Maybe that sounds...
  17. Re: "165 million acres of farmland to be sprayed with bee killing pesticide...."

Umm? Maybe the 700 reduction (hopefully just the start) is because - rather than actually making things safer (if they could even) - the EPA doesn't make anything safer - just a lot more expensive....

    Re: Sugar Blocks/Fondant

At 60F I would break the hive boxes down - you don't need to pull frames.
If the stores are gone, then the feed is needed... if the lower boxes are full of stores, I would put the top box on the...

    Re: Blue Square Question Marks

From what I can tell - all images in /forums/images/misc/ are failing. 403 error denotes that the public does not have permission to view the file.

I might suggest a quick check of the directory...
