    Crofter -m Welcome to the club. The bottom box in winter is normally drawn comb for us, but a box with no frames seems to work the same.

    MSL - I never read the research paper. It was told to my by my father. Dr. Farrar was a family friend. I was to his house as a child.

    Solar - you should look up Dr. farrar's work from the 1930's.. He cut away the super to leave only the corners, edges and frame rests. The bees survived winter in Wisconsin. Maybe the bigger...

    Do your calculations with 5 going up every 2 weeks, outside frames stay as pollen, everything else active.

    A 400x light microscope worked well in Microbiology class. A much lower Bi-noc was used in Inverabrate Zoology.

    In a year where brooding iis way above average, we have intleaved foundation. It seems to slow them down more than drawn comb. If the flow stops, they will chew the heck out of the foundation.

    If a fortnight is the same as our 14 days, then we are in sync. We schedule inspections every 14 days, and move brood up, empty comb down. The queen maxes out at 12 frames because she wastes time...

    In Wisconsin, typically a couple weeks after fruit trees, but before the Sweet Clovers. Fills an empty hole. They where an important bloom in the 60's, but not so productive as of late.
