How many years are you getting out of your rabbit joint boxes Michael?
I thought the pursuit of a better bee food is what the goal was/is? Not who has the best. Shoot when we stop growing we start dying all got more to learn and improve on. Can't wait for the results.
dont feed unless they are starving. you will make them want to swarm by backfilling the brood nest. This time of year they shouldn't need feed.
Wow so some would sell this to someone even if infected? That explains why the beekeeping industry for a buyer can suck. So many people more concerned about money over quality pathetic.
If you...
That has not been my experience with mediums or anyone else I know either. Then what of swarm cells. It only stands to reason that for someone running a "fulltime" operation deeps only or a...
Wow yup that goes on the list of oddest things ever seen
Well folks I think it is fair to say hitachi makes a good stapler. I have shot over 30,000 staples since I posted this and more than likely will have 60,000 shot by mid april.
Not a single jam.

unless you have to have lighter equipment go deeps. cheaper and more importantly faster. I couldn't imagine going thru all the frames if they were mediums.
Finding the queen in a full honey...
Thanks for all the insight fella's. I decided to buy a saw that will be one I can use for any scale and one that delivers consistently. I love my new grizzly table saw. It is building top of the...
I like and prefer kelleys frames. Just built 4000 more.
Local bees are better. Than the average queen in my experiance. But if someone up in Vermont is doing some killer breeding than his stock could be better. But if all things were done exactly the same...
Hey I am going to be purchasing a table saw soon.
I am looking to see what type of dado compatible table saws people like, or dont like.
feedback appreciated!

ya what he said. If I had flows like they do in Northern states I think I would break in half. Here in Tennessee My hives can (on the ground)...
what is the average wholesale price for "American" honey? I am having a hard time getting 2014 prices for some reason.
thats what I am doing to my packages. Even if is doesn't prevent drifting it would be really worth while in closing the gap between the first emerging brood and the older packaged bees.
1 frame...
Nice video. Small cell might cause earlier bee emergence. This would help but is not a cure all. I will be conducting my own experiments to see if it is a advantage
Man I Hate that makes me sick. Hope you get them back
Capped drone brood with that small of a cluster likely a laying worker or failing queen. Look at the capped cells and see if they are perforated where the Varroa mites have emerged.
Welcome from gainesboro! Some good honey gets produced in your area!
I get in a 58 all the time. Here I inspect bees bees every month most years. Tennessee gets enough warm weather I can ddo that keep your inspection s short and if they have larvae very short. But do...
Not if done properly again everyone assumes that just cause it iis natural it is not aas productive. First let's stop using corn for ethanol and cows and now we have freed up most of our land. Cows...
Mine is mainly to maintain good records of hive weight during the season and of course select the best genetics from my bees
[QUOTE=Barry;1056729]But that pendulum is swinging evermore to the "how food is produced" side.[/QUOT
I agree it is swinging more to the health and concerned side. As beekeepers we should be right...
