Re: How to inspect with less protective gear

The only reason I do it is to stay cooler. Don't like to wring out my bee suit after sweating to death in the sun.

Re: Chinese Developing Covid in Lab 2015!

    Re: Drone brood

I am in central New Jersey. I have had drones flying for 1 - 2 weeks already. A bit early I think.

    Re: Wax moth 'nests'.

Yes, that is the "nest" I was speaking of. It probably starts with larvae moving from frame to frame over bridge comb and then increases from there. I could be wrong but I don't think that adult...

    Re: Wax moth 'nests'.

i think what you're taking as a nest is simply the trail of the larvae which leave silk behind them. I don't think it contributes to survival at all. The other factors mentioned above I think have...

Re: A sign of the times

Have a sister in law and her husband who have tested positive and another brother in law with pneumonia who has been tested but no results yet. I'm guessing he will be positive based on his...

I read that the RI governor was sending the state police door to door and telling any NYers to go home.

Re: A sign of the times

Anyone seeing the TP supply in their supermarket returning to Normal? Last time I went there was a little bit of store brand available but that was all.

Re: A sign of the times

Wouldn't want to be the queen. She is simply a walking ovary. When she is no longer useful the hive gets rid of here. Wouldn't call that a monarchy either.

Re: Any beekeepers sick w CV-19? SURVEY

Correlation is not causation. There is a chance that beekeepers get less sick simply because they are older, in general, and have developed more immunity over the years.
  22. Re: Thoughts on locating captured swarm back into same bee yard?

Last year I witnessed one of my hives swarming. Strangely enough it landed back on the hive it came from and crawled under the hive. I broke down the hive and dumped the swarm into a trash can and...

    Sticky: Re: Treatment-Free Bungling 2018 - ?

Be careful with this. I tried an empty between brood boxes and it didn't produce comb just queen cells. Because the empty box acts as a barrier to the queen and there is reduced queen pheromone in...
