I have. The odds of you being...

Re: Soybean meal in pollen patties

I used to feed full fat soy flour and the bees didn't seem any worse for it. If I were doing it I would want to mix it 50/50 with pollen if at all possible. But some seem to think soy flour isn't...

Re: Queen on top of frame

At one time or another the queen is in every inch of the colony where she has access. She just spends MOST of her time in the brood nest.

    Re: oa dribble freqency

    >Based on studies I've read, OA "dribble" is really rough on open brood.

From what I've seen it's really rough on adult bees. Usually they don't recommend more than one treatment.
  7. Re: Do you clean and reuse plastic foundation or throw them away?

Re: What's up with the all the Bircomb?

  11. Re: When do you add fondant/mountain camp sugar?

I always clump it up by spraying some water on it. Otherwise it gets hauled out for trash.

Re: What to ask at allergy Dr

I suppose I'm cheap and old fashioned. I have never talked to allergist in my life that I know of... If I was concerned, I'd park outside the emergency room with a partner and sting myself a few...

    Re: Totally Black Honeybee

Robbers are often wet from honey or wax and often have their hair pulled out so they are often black and shiny. If they didn't have their hair pulled out they would be lighter in color.

    Re: Idea for Workshop queenrearing

I would not assume there is no living materials. You might find a colony with some open brood so you can do grafting. You probably can't get a cell starter put together (too many bees required) or...
  19. Re: How late into the season will bees collect Propolis to seal the hive?
