    Sorry for the confusion the bees are not big but their nest structures look alike the broods have involucrum all around them.

    This method allows the bees to split the natural way and is a lot safer for the bees and in my experience it works very well but the time it takes can vary, sometimes it happens in a matter of weeks...

    Some more pictures which show that the bees have sealed the viewing plastic to the box and have also used propolis on the entrance to help protect themselves from any invaders from the outside.
