You missed the part where the hive is "little nasty", having them making their own will end up with the same issue that is trying to solve

Using QE w/o with drawn frames drawn frames is very challenged since there is no incentive for them to go through the excluder to an empty space. Hence you got to prime them by moving a brood frame...

  13. Re: When getting 1st hives they should come with a warning label

my goal is to have 5 going into the winter and only keep 3 in spring. Sell all the extra from splits. I find that 3 hives is perfect for me. It doesn't take much time to manage at all. Plenty of...
  14. Re: Very Sad, Lost both my hives today, looking for what to do now in prep for spring

FYI, for me there is not a single mite was dropped on the sticky board and yet the hive was heavily infested. When I did OAV, the first 2 days there are thousands of them dropped on the board so IMO...

  20. Re: NEW TO HONEY! 18 YEARS OLD, INVESTING MY TUITION IN MY COMPANY

Using honey super with less hive will be more efficient in collecting honey but will be collecting less than what they are doing. Since labor is cheap the latter must yield more profit for them.
