    Re: Georgia

Actually, I think it is more on time this year. Last year it was 2-3 weeks early because of the warm winter. The late season cold we had slowed it all down so we are about where we should be

OK, tulip poplar has started blooming in my area. Privet still budding. Blackberry is behind here though. I think freezing temps last few weeks stalled them but I am seeing buds on them.

You are not too far from me so it is on right now. It may have started a couple of weeks ago. Typically, when tulip poplar trees start blooming the flow is in full swing.

    Re: Drones gallore

I am still learning to try and keep hives alive. I am going to be doing a split of my strong hive after our main flow is done. Maybe then. I just do not want drones eating all my surplus.

    Re: Drones gallore

Its not that. I think the mistake is mine. I may have put or left drone comb in the hive. The cells are larger. Should I replace it with normal celled comb?

It could take the poplars a few years to bloom. How far away are these stands of trees? If they are within 2-3 miles, do not worry. The bees will find them.
