    Well folks, I definitely got my share of junk but 85% of my bees were rented in Cali (1900 hives in almonds). The remaining 15% is a mix of deadouts and weak hives(3 framers) sitting in the holding...

    Migrant workers are a lot more efficient than a crane or lift. Pulling honey is a small part of beekeeping for us. Splitting, treating, feeding, is a lot more labour intensive.

    1. On a good year they will plug out with pollen abd nectar.
    2. Forget the sugar bricks. Feed them syrup.
    3. Depends if its a flash bloom or not. Can be over a month.

    Get a 1.5 inch roper gear pump and power it with an 8hp honda. Use a 1" hose.

    I have a friend that keeps a few yards in almonds yr round. Its not an easy task when spraying. They rebound with enough pollen sub and syrup.

    I order truckloads of hfcs from ADM thru Dadant. The few times I called Guness, they had a higher price. Yet the syrup would ship from ADM. They are a middleman.

    You want 12 framers? #1 Hit mites hard and early. #2 feed as much sub as you can in the fall. Everything else comes after that.

    Ive never used fumagilin and averaged 14 frames in almonds last yr. Have friends who winter in cellars and dont use fumagillin.

    I run a cowen 60. I built myself a 2hp 1.5 inch gear pump. It will pump 70 degree honey full of wax without any issues. Our sump is heated but we extract more than it can handle so usually have 85...
