Re: What recourse do I have?

I would make sure that you’re registered with the state. They can be very helpful in situations like yours. If you want the inspectors name and number PM me and I’ll get it to you or just call them....

Re: Mated queen taking 4 weeks to lay?

From the dates it sounds like the queen that’s in there now is probably not the one you put there.
  3. Re: For those that treat; when do you start?

When I get home this weekend. Uncapped some drone brood last week and wasn’t happy with the results.

    Re: Band heater vaporizer.

I believe I heard 12 volts in the video. A google search showed €480. Pricey and back to having a battery. I’ll be interested to see what other people have to say.

    Re: 2 queen colonies

Yes one did better. The one I left. I had two different brood nest though, one on each side of the excluder. When they’re both in the same box I let them work it out. I’m checking a double queen hive...

    Re: 2 queen colonies

Agreed. If they’re in the same box they’ll work it out. I did have a hive with a queen above and one below the excluder. I left the best looking one and put the other in a nuc.
  10. Re: Running single deep and medium for brood

I have been running a deep/medium brood set up for a few years now. I like mine to end up in the spring with the medium in the bottom. I feel that the brood does better on the deep frames up top....

    Re: Two queens?

I had a hive this year that had a queen above the excluder and one below the excluder. That was a first for me. Figured why that hive was so strong. I took the above queen and put her in a nuc. Moved...

    Re: no rain then rain...

I wouldn’t leave that there for long. Hive beetles love pollen patties. If they’re bringing in pollen I wouldn’t think they’d need patties. White pollen might be cabbage palm if you have any in the...

    Re: Cappings and Wax Melting

Get an old turkey frying pot and a cheap paint strainer bag from Lowe’s. Melt it down, pull the bag out, it’ll have all the gunk in it. Then let it cool. You can remelt and filter better if you need...

    Re: Mating yard visitor

That’s pretty cool. I was at an out yard last Saturday, I opened the gate, went in and checked the bees. About an hour later when I left and closed the gate a little spotted fawn ran by about 5’ from...

Re: currently a dearth where i live.

In your area of Florida if you put pollen patties on you’ll most likely get a fine crop of hive beetles. I’d try dry pollen substitute in a feeder near the hives. I don’t know your location (city,...
