    Expecting a low of 10 tonight low 30s for the high temp this weekend I'm good with that, spring is not early here still have a foot of snow out there. All beekeeping is local.

    I just thank the queen producer that did such a good job selecting gentle bees, haven't had any protection on for years. Now i make my own queens from them.

    Tried them a few years ago built up strong , but this far north I still needed to treat them our winters are just to long. the queens I got had gentle bees.

    I have my mating nucs at least a 1/4 mile away from any big hives and I don't have robbing issues. In the same yard it was death to the nucs. Only had 12 to mate had 9 return.
