Re: Cold Virus 'Cures'. What works for you?

Daily glass of water with 1/8-1/4 teaspoon of propolis-alchohol tincture mixed in.

Re: A sign of the times

Sure it was political statement (just as it was a "democratic hoax" a week before that).
The context is obvious, plain and simple.
POTUS give himself 10/10 for everything and anything, and looks...

Re: A sign of the times

Basically I am really tired of the US politicians spreading the propaganda of the "best in the world healthcare".

Best in the World healthcare - for the rich (such as NBA players and the...

    Re: Beekeeping in garage attic?

Working the bees in the dusty, hot, dark, and SMOKY attic in summer?
Up and down, up and down with equipment?
Will require very secure flooring too all over - don't want to step through the sheet...

While at it, read what is being ignored - as if this (totally different) issue will never happened.
NOT about the virus but no less significant and potentially more deadly.

Re: A sign of the times

Because most of the US residents are like a dodo bird - don't really have a sense of reality anymore.
A good doze of reality is due.

I too have two chest freezers full of food, mostly of my own...

A good read with a demonstration why the "social distancing" is important - it is to mitigate the hard, limited capacity of the system to take in the sick:...

    Re: Propolis Tincture Question

So very timely with the COVID - I got lots of propolis tincture handy.
Have been taking it daily every morning.
Get 1/4 teaspoon of tincture, mix with cold water, and down it.
    Not a single cold...

    Sticky: Re: Treatment-Free Bungling 2018 - ?

The issue is I am yet to see a "better bee" for my exact location.
Massive dump of "Russian bee" derivatives could be a good approach to create our local "better bee".

    But most beeks have been...
  11. Re: Im curious, has anyone gone to a weekend class by Leo Sharashkin

Just read his site, articles by him and about him, watch the vids, and read the book "Keeping bees with a smile" (if want to buy that; the original in Russian is a free PDF).
    That will will get you...

    Same here.
Not buying - the fundamentals of my approach.
Buying only serves one urge - quick satisfaction (same as drugs; which then is asking for a repeat).

For sure my documented personal experience demonstrates so far, I have it dramatically different here from the Ozarks - in my Northern suburbia, full of "bee-loving" people.

    Deleted... (I got confused).

Yes - this as well could be about the particular site and not about the particular bees.
    Or both.

For example, my #2 site is very close to a busy 2-lane road (less...

    2019 June queens.

    Not a particular bee.
    A line.

I think I see what you getting at - no queen ever lived for more than 1 winter (it is NOT a survival - as you stated above already).

    What I...

As far as the nutrition goes - #3 is not obviously better than #1 or #2 (both are next to a large state nature preserve too, compatible to...

Thanks; it should be a good year 2020.
I got lots of leftover resources to jump start any number of new units I wish to do in 2020.
Lots of housing is available for any new swarms that land as...

These smaller nucs entered the winter as strong 5-6 frame units.

    March 1st (still winter here).

Bad news - I am down to 3 units as of yesterday (3/19; 16%)
Good news - 2 of the 3 are of my best "survivor" line (the 3rd winter is almost over; I don't think...

    Re: Propolis Tincture Question

People do it, but for better absorption reasons, it is best to have propolis in finely-pulverized structure - powder or tincture/solution products.
