    new queen, when do I inspect

    My bees are making a new queen and she's due to emerge on the 29th, how long should I wait to inspect the hive to see if she's laying?

    I inspected two of my hives yesterday and approximately six or more of the 10 frames are solid honey and it seems they're not building out the supers as fast I thought they would. I moved the hives...

    Queen didn't take, what to do?

    I have three hives and wanted to requeen them.
    On April 25 I eliminated the three queens
    April 26 installed new queens

    It's been quite a few years since I've harvested mangrove honey but from what I've read and remember the bloom is May-July, some sources say June-July.

    bees flying around

    Lately with one of my hives the bees are flying all around the entrance, usually late afternoon, what is this behavior? They seem happy though.

    I have no idea but I thought that one of the benefits of hawaiian queens is that the africanized bees
    are not in HI so there is no chance it's in there genetic makeup
