Re: New design of a honey extractor.

I think medicinal use of honey has lost it's stature due mainly to poor marketing technique and a closer looker look at WHY it was considered medicinal to begin with. Also the source plant of the...

Re: If bees were paid the minimum wage

On top of all that, you have to figure in the remodel of their home every year.....inside & out.........after they just move out without notice. Many times they leave the place a mess...even to the...

    I'll Admit My Hurried Stupidity

I have one traditional top bar hive among 20 Langs, and I did something really stupid to them yesterday.

I know one of my hives swarmed a couple of days ago. I watched them come through the...

Re: When to transfer a swarm box into a hive

    pmartens,

When you R&R comb, always replace it in the same orientation as removed. In your video, it appears that you replaced it upside down. (Comb is built with a slight upward angle, and...
  15. Re: How Fast will Package Build Comb in Top Bar

I'd bet that there was comb being built under those festooning bees. It sounds like they are on their way. Check again in a few days.

Re: What to Plant in 1/4 Acre

My bees love the Hansen Cherry Bushes. Check for them in garden catalogs that also have trees and bushes. They're easy to grow and bloom early.
