    Anybody in Cherokee Village, AR?

I heard from a woman who just started noticing bees in the cedar siding of her house. I don't do cutouts and they are an hour from me, but if anyone willing to can help her, I can PM you her phone...

    Re: crush and strain methods

I bought a little fruit press for getting juice out of grapes, apples and pears. I haven't used it for honey, yet, but I hear that it works a treat.

    Re: the beekeeper’s neighbor

I have dozens of hives, and every year there are a couple that are hot and I would never want them 8 feet from my house. As it is, I would put a veil on to mow anywhere near them, especially during...

    Re: the beekeeper’s neighbor

Weak and you knew it when you typed it. Moving the hive wouldn't "keep the bees off the property," it would keep defensive bees from stinging what is in close proximity to the hive.

    Re: the beekeeper’s neighbor

I wouldn't advocate for it either, but when people disrespect their neighbors, they should prepare for people more ill-mannered than you or I might be. It's a good thing for everyone to keep in mind...

    Re: the beekeeper’s neighbor

You could plant a bunch of stuff right there on your side of the fence so his hives get zero sun, ever.

Start raising murder hornets. Or open feed syrup every day so his hives swarm every couple...

Re: The story of a Deep Long Hive.

I have made really cheap horizontal hives out of big blue plastic barrels. 21 deep frames fit in them....Compared to all of my vertical Langstroth colonies, these horizontals are almost like magic....

    Re: the beekeeper’s neighbor

Swarms themselves don't tend to be overly aggressive, but hives that are fixing to swarm, or who are queenless, or who are getting messed with by a skunk at night, or are just one of those hot hives,...
  9. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

I guess to split hairs, the "Corona Virus" (this year's flu) won't have any noticeable affect on the beekeeping industry. The emotional over reaction on the part of citizens and the power grab by the...
  10. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

It's more than the appeal of stats that you apparently don't understand.
Saying it's a 50/50 chance that you will die of something is the same, mathematically, as saying that the death rate of the...
  11. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

When this hype dwindles, level headed experts that you will ignore will show that the mortality rate of this flu was far less than 2%, and even then, things like pneumonia and other strains of flu...
  12. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

Correct, I'll answer it more directly then: Being that Covid-19 is actually, according to the numbers, one of the least deadly viruses, beekeepers' chances of dying of it are too tiny to wreck our...
  13. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

How do you deal with the factual information being presented here that you are not responding to? It's being presented by folks that think you are a member of the flat earth society and motivated by...
  14. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

Exactly. In the same way that lots of men die WITH prostate cancer but didn't die OF prostate cancer. Many other mortality rates (flu, common cold in the elderly, etc...) plummeted exactly like in...
  15. Re: Will the coronavirus negatively affect the beekeeping industry?

Yup. Even including this Covid-19 thing, flu mortalities are projected to be a little below average compared to any other year. Besides, medical mistakes by doctors and nurses (front line heroes!!!)...

Re: Is History Of Beekeeping Down?

Consider: That is the ONLY section of this forum set up this way. So the average person, after going to all of the other sections and seeing how they are set up, will go there and assume there are no...

No, every other forum here has the default set to show all threads since the beginning.
Every single one, except "History of Beekeeping." The default for everybody is to only show threads "this...
