I agree with others that the last photo is a Yellow Jacket (type of wasp). After getting stung recently and chased by a group (social) of what looked like honey bees, I researched this to learn...
RE: "There is a great documentary ("Lawyers, Guns, and Honey") on the international honey business in the Netflix series 'Rotten'." Not to change the subject of this great discussion, but "Rotten"...

I really don't like being scammed, esp by large corporations, so I had to search this one. Before we became beekeepers, my son ate a lot of Kirkland honey! :)
I went to Costco online and found below product descriptions. They state where each product comes from. I'm going to try to upload articles from their magazine, but if you don't see them later, it's...
This was very helpful info! Thank you.
Because forum members are from various states, I'm responding mostly with tips on getting started when you decide to go into profit-making activities. Every locale and state are different. For...
I live in Central PA, so NJ may have similar trees or shrubs starting to "bloom" even though we can't see it. I have allergies, and my nose is telling me that something is blooming. Only thing I see...

Thanks. I needed that simple advice!
I have tried a couple brands of seeds, no luck with any & I am known as having a green thumb. Any suggestions for seed suppliers for Common and other milkweed?
This site is selling wicks and other supplies as they transition to fewer products. Will find a good deal.

I have the same questions.
Just gotta say, I am so glad that I "tumbled upon" the Beesource forum when searching for an answer to one question!!! I live in a very rural area, and though ideally I want to be more involved with...
I, too, have normally low blood pressure so I really get that comment. I believe my body tells me what it needs. I've learned this after ignoring things that have nothing to do with...
Simple question, John - Why is light important?
We'll remember this phrase next year! The weekend before Thanksgiving, my son & I checked our hives, which were VERY healthy only a couple weeks earlier when we inspected them. It was obvious that...
I look forward to reading what you discover!
LOL! Thanks for your response.
Have you used spent grain to feed bees protein? If yes, what is your recipe?
