Re: Mixing syrup in IBC tote

You don’t need a funnel for a tote, it will be more grief and way slower, if filling totes. But its $20 so it costs little to try.

Re: Escape boards. Do they work off of the hive?

    Hi Vance,

What I am looking for is the equivalent of tipping off boxes and waiting for them to leave, without needing to restack. I load my honey, stacks 5 high, with a motorized cart.

Re: C02 and wintering bees indoors

200,000 ppm is 20%. That means that O2 levels would be down to 16.7% which is dangerously low.

  17. Re: Does winter colony size affect spring honey production?

I have weighed some in spring that were near starvation and only weighed 35lbs. Depends alot on how much pollen is in the frames. My hives are basically a 10 frame super, a 3/4" plywood bottom...

  19. Re: Does winter colony size affect spring honey production?

Jim, when I have run doubles, I see spread out brood, and frames with way more honey surrounding the brood. In singles, my best queens fill 8-9 frames 90% with brood. Its all together with very...
