    Good size hive with lots of brood. But this is the second year and i see little honey i can harvest. is it time to re-queen?
    Whats making the hive concentrate on brood but not on storing honey?...

    Yes, they are starting to cap. Adding empty frames, i use no foundation. and yes, they are pulling them. No queen excluder.
    I have no drawn comb. If i add any i would move a few frames of brood up...

    Is all about timing. I though doing that but concerned that with the flow almost here if i split to simulate a swarm taking the old queen they wont have a crop.

    If they are not too bad i cut the worst parts and let them redraw. I use no foundation though.

    Great video. So are 40 degree nights risky for splits? Will i need to add nurse bees to ensure enough bees in the box?

    been very mild. we saw two dustings this winter, thats about it. I think it has been the case for most of the south
