Re: OAV with honey supers/Fall Extraction Blues

Not sure of origin of Savogran WB, but I’ll call and ask.
But what does it matter? 99.7% pure is 99.7% pure no matter.

Re: Introducing the Easy Vap Pro

As previously stated the PV and Sub were developed about the same time. However the small company that made the PV had no marketing experience nor did they speak English. Thus the Sub was marketed...

Re: Introducing the Easy Vap Pro

I don’t want to hijack John’s thread, but the ProVap and the Sublimox were introduced approximately the same time and developed independently. The Sublimox is mainly a 220v unit and sold primarily in...

Re: Maxant Bottling Tank: 16 gallon v. 25 gallon

I put a Maxant One Drip Valve on a beer keg and strapped a warming blanket around it. It won’t decrystalize honey, but other than that, works great. If you search through my old posts, there’s a pic.

No more bending over to treat! Measured dose per hive! 110volt (no compressor needed). Stand, point in front entrance and vaporize. Approximately 15 seconds per hive.

Now that BM is now defunct, another manufacturer has packaged OA with the approved for use in beehive label. I'll try to find out who and post.

Re: Maxant Bottling Tank: 16 gallon v. 25 gallon

That lift cart is awesome. Lower to fill, raise to bottle. Easy to roll around.
I haven’t found the need to be very careful at all.
  16. Re: Slimy Comb from Hive Beetle Larvae maybe - salvageable?

Bees won’t touch it. You can try washing the comb out with a hose.
  17. Re: It's 6-am - 9am or after 7pm beekeeping for me!

I usually (when the temps are agreeable)…… like to start around 10am as a number of bees have left the hive. As to least angry …. the bees temperament (I've found) is determined by nectar flows or...

It's just too hot! Above 95 every day....... As much as I enjoy beekeeping, there's not a bug I'm willing to have heatstroke over! If it doesn't get done in the am or pm...……..

  22. Re: OA vaporization is probably safe with honey supers - here's my calculations

Re: How long to wait for wash after OAV?

OA continues to kill until carried out by the bees, which when they are flying is at most 3 days. So testing on day 4 after OAV should give you a decent count of the mites remaining.

    Re: BetterComb Experience, Anyone?
