    Re: Global Warming

Remember when the international ( most of It) mandated a change in Freon ? Has your world ended?
  2. Re: Why the heck won't they gain weight (after ALOT of feeding).

Thanks for your effort to respond.

All keeping is local. If I turned comb over that fast I would have no comb. Thankfully it does not seem like I have to. Good to keep in the memory bank though, I...

    Re: Global Warming

I don't know of a single human on this planet who is in FAVOR of pollution.

I am much more in favor of my pollution than yours; not many people that do not a have a touch of that sentiment.

    Re: Global Warming

There are deniers and then there are deniers. Denying that the sea level is rising is over the top. A little bit of reality remains to say it is not man made, not at all, is just blind. Sea level...

    Re: Global Warming

    MB,
Aside from the Believer or Denier labels probably closer than distant on any specific policy.

    Re: Global Warming

That has been thoroughly debunked in recent years.

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10533-018-0505-3 I'll tell the fishing community not to worry, it's thoroughly debunked.

    (I'm not...
  7. Re: Why the heck won't they gain weight (after ALOT of feeding).

    Roland,
Could you elaborate on old comb? Do you see a difference in where hive is placed? heavy ag or suburbs?
When do you call a comb old?

    Re: Global Warming

Lots of calls for major changes that coincidentally benefit those calling for those changes financially and politically.

    Define lots.
Is that more or less subversives than those forking over...

    Re: Global Warming

If you are convinced man is not responsible for ( I guess any impact) then why do fools who believe in global warming bother you? Tell me what impact do you think burning fossil fuels have? You going...

    Re: Global Warming

Yes, mankind is very good at adapting. Accompanied by fussing, whining and denying. Global warming and pollution are intertwined. When you say global warming is fake, I hear I want to be free to...

    Re: Global Warming

    Bet we can find common ground here;

LIHEAP a federal program that helps the low income stay in their homes. Been going on for 20-30 ? years. Buys oil to help out, does not fund better windows,...

    Re: Global Warming

We do not have to agree on the cause of Global warming to find some common ground. Remember the 70's gas lines. Do we want to be an energy vulnerable economy? Is energy source diversity a sound goal?...
  13. Re: Should I buy an established hive in Oct in Upstate NY

What's the law in NY? Is an inspection by the State inspector required prior to all bee sales?

How much weight is your neighbor's hive gaining?

  17. Re: This is getting ridiculous (Varroa and OAV treatment)

    5. Not all bees are loyal to their hive in my personal subjective opinion. When the home hive's fait is set, there are those bees that join up with the victors. That is the method of transfer that is...
  18. Re: This is getting ridiculous (Varroa and OAV treatment)

Certainly would fit the mite bomb situation and some mites certainly would be available to hop on the next robber ride. Most, not under cap, would depart with the abscond.

    Wonder how many capped...
  19. Re: This is getting ridiculous (Varroa and OAV treatment)

The mite leaving the bee to wait is not demonstrated directly as far as I know. Indirectly in the 2nd link is discussion of a mite being found on a shipment of cut flowers and discussion of the mite...

  22. Re: This is getting ridiculous (Varroa and OAV treatment)

The ready to produce evidence is only lurking in the back corners of my mind as something I read. That is a rather cluttered space.
  23. Re: This is getting ridiculous (Varroa and OAV treatment)

I've always been a little perplexed by the robbing out a dying mite bomb theory. Two things are missing from the telling (or hearing) of the tale. Robbing is a relatively short lived event, it is...
  24. Re: Is this robbing in progress? Anything to do?

When in doubt close it down. Narrow is not going to hurt anything.
Those robbers are going to try the next hive in line. Sometimes they will settle for dry sugar as bait in a empty body a little bit...

    Re: Weighing Beehives-Winter Weight

6 penny =.12 inch (without CNC control)
    2 mm =.0787 inch

Guess an old nail and a hammer is a little bigger hole.
