    single 8 frame deeps mostly with supers, I take the capped ones off when I can and put in freezer, it has about 10 in it, using Saskatraz, and some local queens, and one from Georgia package.

    My 13 colonies had been going through 50 lbs of sugar a day, till a couple days ago, they are really slowing down, there must be a flow on, seeing orange pollen coming in.

    I did Apivar in June- middle of July, I'm getting 1 mite in the 3 different alcohol washes I have done in 3 out of 13 colonies, should I start OAV now? There's 150 or so mites in there at 1/3%

    Mine have been in two weeks, in several different hives, no laying yet, some not touched much at all, some have nectar pollen, ones swelled up fat with sugar syrup.

    Apparently, beekeepers who have kept bees for a few years and are stung only infrequently develop a sensitivity to bee venom.

    This is why you should not hide out from stings, wearing all that...

    Didn't see any eggs, they fastened the comb to the frame all around, filling with syrup and pollen. I think once they remove the syrup and pollen and clean and polish the queen will lay in it.

    I talked to the Betterbee people at the NCSBA convention today, they said they would absolutely lay in the bettercomb, they had a lot of research in it. I'll check on mine tomorrow. Also saw Kellys...

    I didn't know there was a formula for broodless?
    The only formula I have seen is: 23 mites 300 bees = .076 X 100 = 7.7% (7.7 mites per 100 adult bees)
