    Re: Stolen hives "sting" operation

If you are thinking about placing cameras to protect property, you should check your state and local laws.

    Re: HONEY vs RAW HONEY

Regardless of anything else, if a fellow beekeeper has already established a relationship in that store I would not want to crowd in.
The same goes for holiday bizarres and other annual events.
    The...

First, I want to say how much I have enjoyed this discussion!!!
As for batteries, I got really excited about saline based batteries a few years ago.
    Far safer and non-polluting.
    Probably about...

    Re: requeen failure

In my life experience, nothing always works.
I think I might have mentioned that our success rate is around 98%. That's 2 queens lost out of every 100 which is too many.

    WOW, Dan!! Are we...

    Re: requeen failure

And this is the total basis for the problem you are facing.
Terrible advice. Almost guaranteed to fail.
Next time, remove the queen, install the new queen in the cage for candy release and leave...

  14. Re: Possible recommended OA vaporizer dosage changes

    More is better.
The instructions say otherwise, but I disagree.

    Re: Bit of a giggle

I love my fellow beekeepers here in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
I also love that certain ones of them keep their bees hundreds of miles from mine.......
  16. Re: Caution about opening hives in winter?

Not sure if you were replying to my comments...
ALL hives sent to almond pollination from ALL states have lids popped PRIOR to the long, expensive trip to California.
    Almonds are in California....
  17. Re: Caution about opening hives in winter?

It takes over two million hives from all over the country to pollinate almonds every year in California.
The bloom is typically around the 10th of February.
Every single one of those hives have...

    Re: UPS Lost my bees

That would have been my recommendation in the first place.
    Keep it local.
    Glenn won't "lose" your bees.
  19. Re: Shelter in place...unintended consequences

What is DISGUSTING is that this has happened before and apparently we didn't learn anything.

    Re: Varroa in drone brood

The idea of "thresholds" is an obsolete concept.
With the ever increasing threat of multiple viral implications, varroa loads must be addressed regularly.
