    shake the bees off all the combs you want to use, place in a new box, put box above an excluder over the main hive.
    a few hours later the bees are back on the combs and you know the queen isn't on...

    I try not to do them unless I am in a pinch, but my notes say I had a 75% success rate when the queen was removed in a Fly Back Split and the remaining hive broken into 3-5 nucs after it drew cells

    treatment-free isn't there either... I have run into beekeepers marketing there honey and bees as "chemical-free" as they only use "organic compounds" not "synthetic chemicals" most of us would say...
