Ok, I understand. Thank you.
I'm glad you posted this; one of the videos said to get larvae that was newly hatched (comma shaped), the smallest possible that was not an egg.
I've been there. I also started with two hives. I'm up to 6 or 7 now. When you have more, you can do splits and divide up resources and not worry about an individual failing colony.
I will be attempting grafting for the first time in a couple of weeks. I will be using the Randy Oliver method of "Queens for Pennies ".
I've done a lot of reading and watched several videos. For...
Glad to see you're still in it!
I put my location in and the temperature was 20F higher than actual.
Interesting idea, though.
The company starting with "D" is still using your name if you click on the product and read the details.
Thank you, that's later than I had guessed.
I am trying an out yard this fall in Lancaster County which is 25 miles south of Charlotte.
Anyone close to that area who can tell me when the fall flow typically starts there? There's no...
Thanks folks, sounds easy. Hopefully this works out and I'll get a few supers of goldenrod honey out of this.
You don't have angry bees all over the place at a red light?
Seems like they would get upset at being bounced around in a truck.
I've never moved a hive before but now I've found an out yard I plan to use this fall where there is a good goldenrod flow (I hope). There is no fall flow where I am.
I will be moving 4-5 colonies...

I'm still a newbie in my 4th season but one of the many lessons I've learned is to not waste time , money and resources on colonies like you describe. I would shake the bees out and give the drawn...
Good stuff, thank you all.
There is no fall flow where I live but I have located a property owner north of me who will let me set up an out yard. I plan to put the bees as far as possible from his home up against the property...
Thank you for taking the time to write all that out. Very helpful.
Where are you located?
I think I will go with them. They let me buy now and pick my shipping date. I like that.
Thank you, just what I needed to know. Now I have to find someone who ships queens that early.
I want to do splits the 3rd-4th week of February. I'm in central SC. I did splits last year and had the bees make queens. I want to give them more of a head start this year for the flow which begins...
Thank you sir!
What is the amperage draw of this vaporizer and how long does it take per hive?
Thank you - Smokey
South Carolina...it was 91F here today, might get into the 70s tonight. What is frost? 😉
I sure hope that he is. I hate to hear about the divorce but I'm still rooting for ya!
