Hello All! Just found this forum and now a semi-local group, how lucky can I be? Glad to be here. I'm in Cleveland or rather near Cleveland in the Sam Houston Nat'l Forest. A lot of pine tree pollen at this time! on the the cars, decks, everywhere! There's so much of it - I'm in the woods of course ! Second spring with my two hives, just uncovered two weeks ago and they are BUSY these days.
I actually lost two hives last winter, devastating. I did everything I could to help these two hives survive and so far they are going well. That said, I did have to feed the bees candy as an added measure. Glad I did, I think my last hives may have starved. I covered the hives over the winter and shoved them together to keep the cold out.
I don't think we actually get a nectar "flow" here.
Anyway, glad to be here. It would be nice to hear what other locals are experiencing.
