I'm starting my third year of beekeeping in Southern VA (South Boston area). Last year both hives didn't survive the winter; this winter I lost one and the other is doing fine. In the hive that died, I have five frames filled with capped honey in the bottom deep box that I intend to put in with a Russian nuc that I am getting in early May. My question is, can I leave those frames outside in the hive or do I have to bring them inside and freeze? Today is March 30th. Temps until this point have been in the 40-60 degree range. Today is around 70 and I anticipate temps will begin to warm up in April.
