Hello, I need help as I start to think about next year, 1st year beekeeper. I need advice on getting drawn comb in my honey supers. I know its late in the year but I am asking about next year, coming out of winter in March/April. I started 2 new hives this year and they both are very healthy. 2 full deeps currently and plenty of stores headed into winter. My hives were so big in July that I added a honey super to both just in case they decided to work them. Around the 3rd week in August I removed the supers because the bees showed very little interest in doing anything with them (No comb). I want to be ready for next years honey flow in May (Pennsylvania) but how do I get there? Should I put the supers on in March and feed syrup to help draw the comb? Should I put some super frames in the brood chamber in March so the bees draw them out and fill with brood, then move to the supers in April? Some help here is greatly appreciated.
