Crimson clover and white clover are in full bloom here. Dandelion started a couple weeks ago but there's not a lot of it around here. Wisteria, azaleas, and dogwoods are also in full bloom but I'm not sure how good they are for bee forage.

Pear, both flowering and fruiting are about finished. Same for wild and flowering cherry. My peach are dropping petals now. Camellia are going strong and getting a lot of attention. Red maple is done and setting seed around here. Burford holly began to bloom this week and will be busy if the temp goes back up a bit. I've seen acouple of dogwood blossoms begining to open but they are still green and at least a week or two away. The tulip popular are just beginning to show green and will be another couple of weeks too.

Staghorn Sumac is in full bloom now. Noticed a lot of it one the way in to work this morning. Sumac makes a nice, amber honey. You can really smell it in the beeyard when their bringing the sumac nectar. Smells like money!

We've had a good flow here so far. I may have to add more supers. I've got 3 mediums almost full on 4 of my hives.

Square, no problem. Seeing how far north you are and looking at your dates, the maple bloom looks normal. Ill keep this thread posted. We have our bees on 200 acres. !00 acres are planted pines loaded with blackberry, 100 acres of swamp loaded with maple and poplar. I am sure there are other trees, those are just the ones I am familiar with. We also plant a 2 acre deer plot in crimson clover. Last year it was great seeing all the bees working the clover and blackberry.

OK, tulip poplar has started blooming in my area. Privet still budding. Blackberry is behind here though. I think freezing temps last few weeks stalled them but I am seeing buds on them.

Reviewing last year's post. Is it fair to say that the flow is several weeks later compared to last year? Not sure that it has started yet in Lilburn....

Actually, I think it is more on time this year. Last year it was 2-3 weeks early because of the warm winter. The late season cold we had slowed it all down so we are about where we should be

It is blooming here near Athens as I write. It doesn't produce a significant amount of nectar at this elevation....about 700ft. Up around 1500+ where it typically produces a surplus. it will begin to bloom in mid to late June.

what you are most likely seeing is an earlier blooming variety of goldenrod. i've seen a little it of it around here in the past week or so. the more widespread variety should follow in 3 - 4 weeks.
