5 Frame Nuc Beehive

A nuc hive has all the features of a standard 10 frame hive except on a reduced scale. The nuc hive is used for making splits, swarm control, queen introduction, pollen/nectar monitoring, to name a few.

Alternative Hive Designs

The idea for this hive came about from talks with Dennis Murrell in Wyoming. The two things I have heard over and over from other TBH users has been the fact the bees can, and will, attach the comb to the sides of the hive interior when only top bars are used. . . .

Hiding hives in an urban neighborhood--your advice please.

Has anyone successfully designed a hive into the edge of their garage or other outbuilding. I am building a new home in an urban neighborhood and am wondering if I could design an inside hive with an exterior entrance (like in the garage)so that it would not be visible and panick the neighbors.
