I don't think you do. Not that it matters. If people want to use the occasion of a mass killing of our soldiers to drive home the point that they don't like the president they're certainly free to do so. I find it disrespectful of the soldiers and that tragedy is all.

I recall Bush getting blamed for everything from 9/11 to Katrina. I hope you didn't participate in any discussions where Bush and tragedies were discussed together.

Let's assume I did. Would that make it acceptable to you now?

I always prefer intellectual honesty.
I don't have a problem dealing with tragedies on multiple fronts. Morning those that are gone and paying respect for the heroes involved are a separate issue from how these events are handled by our elected officials. The way tragedies are handled by a leader is more illuminating than what transpires in a heavily choreographed setting. |

I agree. One can mourn the lost and at the same time be critical of those in authority. I don't really see any connection between the mourning and criticism.
If it makes you feel any better I resent Rush Limbaugh as much as I resent Michael Moore. The are kindred spirits in my mind. They intentionally polarize many Americans in the name of entertainment and to make a buck. Their biggest difference is in their choice of audiences. And, for the first Presidential election in over three decades, I didn't vote for one of the leading party candidates. At a time when we needed a genuine leader, we had only politicians running. We're in a sad situation in this country and it wouldn't have mattered one iota, in my opinion, which of the two main contenders had won. Well friends, its been fun. I'm outta here. My first intentional trip to the tailgater and I don't see any good reason to return.

I certainly hope nothing evil happens to Obama. The nation would be a lot better off if he resigned but an untimely departure would create a lot of hate and distrust. I would much prefer the voters turn him into a lame duck. The extra time off would allow him to write a couple more memoirs and have time with friends (Chavez, Castro and Ahmadinejad).
