Default Hey guys, I found a use for wax worms ;) - cookie recipe??

Was looking for holiday cookie recipes and came across this one. I had to double check to make sure they meant REAL wax worms rather than gummy worms or something.

I'm certainly not going to be sending them to my friends, but apparently they taste like pistachios....

I consider myself pretty adventurous when it comes to food but, eww, gross! According to wiki, they are raised for human consumption as well as bait. Sorry, but the last thing I want to consider is their "nutrtional value".
Thankfully, the bees are smarter than I am. They are doing well, in spite of my efforts to help them.

They have been raised and sold for fishing bait for as long as I can remember and I have been around along time. They make awesome bait and I don't think you discovered anything.

It was the human consumption part I was surprised at. The bait part was a given. I have used grubs and the like for years as bait but never considered eating one myself.

Chickens wouldn't mind consuming them, for sure. Hive beetle worms, maybe not. Just kidding. They would eat them also, no doubt.

If they taste like pistachios I'd eat them like I was a honey badger. And they wouldn't even have to be cooked into a cookie

My son had a gecko lizard when he was young and it ate wax worms also.
