    Question Newbie from Texas

    Hello,

We recently purchased a property in Texas that comes with an AG exemption. We always wanted to get into Bee Keeping to help with the decline in Bees and now that we have a property we want to move forward with this. However, we also know that we need to walk before we run as we don't know enough yet to jump in full force. So we wondered if we could let our land out to someone who needed a location for their hive and could possible help us get acclimated to the process and as an added bonus keep our AG exemption. Does that make sense?

    Any help/advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Welcome to Beesource!

Your stated interest in hosting other beekeeper's hives would likely be improved by identifying the city/county/area of Texas that your property is located in.

Welcome. And it sounds like your starting out the right way.
Much of the reading I did before starting said when you think you want to start wait until next year and do more research. A year or two with another beek may ensure you get off on the right foot when you get your own hives.
