Default New Observation Hive in a School

Just installed bees in a huge 8 frame observation hive at a school. The local paper gave it a good write up and a good video of the students explaining it on the paper's website. The “bee chimney” they installed was needed because they wanted to mount it for maximum visibility in the library which meant the bees exit the hive in a highly travelled part of campus. It wasn’t quite what I had in mind when I said they needed a barrier to force the bees up over everyone’s head, but it works.

That is cool. I like the bee chimney to keep the bees away from the ground level.
