Default Absconded - What's all this white stuff?

Hi, my bees absconded last fall and I just left everything as it was. I started seeing a ton of bees and was hopeful- but all just robbers once I got in there (but man they must have sent the whole staff!). Anyway, I kicked some nasty wax moths out and opened the hive top up and let the robbers have their take. They quickly emptied out comb after comb of honey but wouldn't touch this white stuff (which is everywhere). What is this? I assumed it was crystallized honey but thought the bees would take that... Is this why my bees left an almost full hive?

    Thanks.

Granulated honey or wax cappings from robbers. Normal and harmless. Reuse frames.

I see on your imgur page you have a video of dolphins in False Bay. Did you take that? Were you there? I grew up in that area
